Every service at Calix Atelier & Co. is guided by three principles:

Consistency ~ Artistry ~ Reliability

Each instrument is evaluated and adjusted to meet professional playing standards—ensuring stability, responsiveness, and a natural connection between player and instrument.

Instruments that meet these standards are designated Calix Atelier Certified (CAC)—a mark of performance, stability, and trust.

Not every instrument requires a full overhaul to reach CAC standards, but each is given a complimentary assessment to determine the most effective path forward.

General Repair Services

  • Hourly work is available for select repairs and consultations when a project-based estimate is not practical.

    For specific maintenance needs work will be charged at the following hourly rates:

    • Bb/A/Eb: $185/hr

    • Bass Clarinets: $200/hr

    • Minimum Service Charge: $75

    *In many cases, Calix Atelier Setup or service-based work is recommended to achieve more consistent, reliable, and long-term results.

  • A limited service intended to improve basic function on instruments in stable condition. This service does not address full-system performance and is not designed to meet Atelier standards.

    • Bb/A Clarinets: $475

    • Eb Clarinets: $525

    • Bass/Alto/Basset: $975

    • Bb/A/Eb Clarinets: $50

    • Bass Clarinet Necks: $50

    • Mouthpieces: $50

    • Bass Clarinet Body: $75

  • Raising, lowering or replacing the thumb rest requiring new holes to be drilled, tapped and filled.

    • Bb/A/Eb: $100

Calix Atelier Certified Services

  • This is a mechanical setup and preventive maintenance appointment for instruments that are newly purchased within the previous 6 months.

    • Bb/A Clarinets: $450

    • Eb Clarinets: $500

    • Bass/Alto/Basset Clarinets: $1750

  • This is a service for instruments more than 6 months old that have not been setup by Calix Atelier & Co. This includes annual maintenance, mechanical and preventative maintenance setup services, involving taking off all the keys, cleaning and reconditioning the wood, cleaning, tightening and fitting all the keys then systematically reinstalling them ensuring a good seal, changing pads, bumpers and silencing materials as needed.

    • Bb/A Clarinets: $750

    • Eb Clarinets: $850

    • Bassets: $1750

    • Bass Clarinets: $2250

      • For most bass clarinets, this process is sufficient

  • This is a service that includes reconditioning and oiling the wood, refinishing and leveling the tone holes, a full mechanical and preventative maintenance setup, cleaning and polishing keys, changing all bumpers and silencing materials, changing all pads, reseating and balancing all pads for better acoustics and seal.

    • Bb/A Clarinets: $1500

    • Eb Clarinets: $1750

    • Bassets/Bass: Please contact for quotes. (Rarely needed.)

    *this does not include tenon corks. surcharge of $50 per tenon.

  • This involves talking off all the keys, cleaning and reconditioning the wood, cleaning all the keys, and systematically putting them back on ensuring a good seal, changing pads, bumpers and silencing materials as needed.

    • Bb/A Clarinets: $300

    • Eb Clarinets: $375

    • Bass/Alto/Basset: $750

      *Pricing is based on whether instruments are Calix Atelier Certified (CAC)

Repair & Restoration

  • Starting at $200 (includes up to 3 pins). Additional pins $20 each.

    Final pricing determined after evaluation based on crack complexity and instrument condition.

  • Keywork and structural repairs are quoted following evaluation.

    Pricing reflects the scope, mechanical complexity, and time required to restore proper functionality.
